Facebook’s F8 meetup: Exciting developers and entrepreneurs in Kathmandu

Facebook’s annual f8 meetup is being hosted in Kathmandu for the first time on April 19, 2017 in collaboration with M&S Next Venture Corp. The official website of F8 meetup introduces the meetup as a 2-day annual event that brings developers and entrepreneurs together to explore the future of the technology.

FB meetup features an opening keynote, followed by networking with the local developer community. The event being organized in 45 different tech-focused cities around the world has garnered significant interest among the entrepreneurs and developer community in Nepal. The event has been featured in major dailies and M&S Next Venture Corp revealed frequent telephone and personal enquiries about the event and possibility of participation in the event.

“The seats are full and the startup community of the country is looking at the event with sheer excitement”, says, Kavi Raj Joshi, co-founder and managing director of M&S Next Venture Corp. “The first of its kind event is a welcome boost to the slowly growing developer and entrepreneurial community of Nepal,” says Barad Ghimire, a tech enthusiast who unfortunately missed the registration as the seats were full before he registered.

The aftermath and take-away from the meetup is yet to come. But Facebook meetup happening in Kathmandu with such enthusiasm surrounding the event is a testament to Kathmandu turning into a tech-friendly city- slowly but steadily.
